Piles can be helped by increased exercise and a reduction in harsh fibre.

Applications of soothing creams such as witch hazel or calc flour tissue salt can help with pain and itching and reduce inflammation. Aloe Vera gel, St.Johns Wort ointment and cypress oil mixed with almond oil have all been known to help the irritating itch or burn.

Use Vitamin E capsules as suppositories each night before going to bed to reduce inflammation. A supplement of Flavonoids may help to strengthen veins - ask your natural health practitioner or local health food store for a suitable supplement.

Any herbs which increase blood circulation may also help such as Horse Chestnut, Butchers Broom and Ginkgo Biloba.

Take Vitamin E (400iu daily) and vitamin C (500mg daily) to assist in the healing process.
